Rita Keary

Rita Keary (Tap, Pre-Dance, Ballet, Jazz) was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri where she began dancing at the age of 8. She traveled and competed throughout most of her dance training and in the summer of 2000 was chosen to tour the United States as an assistant to the master teachers with Jazz on Tap on Tour (formerly known as Joel Ruminer’s Dance Camps. During that time she trained with Tom Alexander, Dena Rizzo, Liz Reiter, and Marcus Alford to name a few. During the summer of 2003, Rita lived in Evanston, Illinois where she spent the summer studying at Gus Giordano’s training with instructors like Mark Yonally of Chicago Tap Theatre, and Nan Giordano; daughter of the late Gus Giordano. Rita is a 2006 graduate from Saint Gregory’s University where she received her B.A. in Humanities with an emphasis on Dance Performance under the direction of Liz Reiter. During her time there she was involved in the University’s Dance Company; Spirit and Sole as well as the Liturgical Dancers and the Basketball Dancers. Rita’s favorite form of dance is tap and it has been said that she was the best tap dancer to walk through the doors of Saint Gregory’s. Rita is starting her seventh year as an instructor at Range of Motion and couldn’t be happier. ROM is her second family and her home away from home.
