Katelynn Escobar

Katelynn Isabela Escobar is a ROM Grad. She started dancing at ROM at the age of 4. Her favorite memories are from performing in the ROM year-end performances each year. Katelynn was in 14 shows and is well known for her rendition of Red in Hoodwinked.  She began assisting in younger level dance classes when she was 15 years old.  Now as a graduate, she will be in the classroom, leading some of our youngest dancers through their first steps in dance class.

Katelynn is also very involved in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and rallies to bring public awareness about the disease.  At 2 weeks old, Katelynn was diagnosed with this genetic disease. Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs and pancreas. When Katelynn is not dancing, she spends many hours of her day making sure her lungs stay healthy. Her mornings and evenings consist of breathing treatments, airway clearance therapy and taking many medications to keep her lungs free of infection.  With cystic fibrosis, the pancreas doesn’t produce digestive enzymes needed to digest food, therefore those inflicted, must take enzyme capsules whenever they eat a snack or a meal to digest food.  Exercise is an important part of a healthy routine for Katelynn and dance is her favorite  way to keep her lungs healthy. She is looking forward to teaching year-round at ROM this year.
